Controller charging .. is there an alternative

I think it's pretty much widely known that the small usb port on the MP1 controller is a bit of a weak point.
And I guess disconnecting the short usb cable each time to charge the controller, doesn't help either the cable or the port.

So I wonder, is it possible to maybe charge the controller from the bottom port instead?

No, not possible to charge apart from the micro USB.
I use one with a usb marking (below) one one side so I know which way it goes, a dab of whiteout on it helps to see it clearly too.
Mines still working / charging fine after 5 years, just careful when connecting.

Alternative, find a combination of adapters that allow you to charge the controller by connecting a USB cable to the phone end of the controller to phone cable. That way you do not have to disturb the side connection.

its not possible to use the bottom port for charging ,its better to use it for connecting to your screen device ,instead of the small side port
