Delay with iPad Mini, FlyApp and Mavic 3

Hi guys,

Is anyone else using an iPad Mini 4 with the Mavic 3 and the FlyApp?
I have a weird issue: Everything seems to work fine, but then I start my M3 and suddenly I'm getting a delay in the video transmission on my iPad Mini 4. It can be up to a second and a half. But it is not constant. The delay seems to be varying between something less then a tenth of a second up to a second and a half.

I was using h265 with DLog on the copter.

Hi Chris,

I think, the "old" iPad 4 has problems to keep up with the quality of the video feed, coming from the drone. I once had the same problem with my Mavic 2 Pro and an iPad Mini 3 after an update (I'm not quite sure if it was a App- or Aircraft update) but had to upgrade my Mini to have sufficient processing power to view the livefeed from the drone. Recording etc. continued but I had stutters or longer delays in the playback / livestream.

You can test that by recording and see, if the recorded material also has delays on the corresponding spots.

The fly app has become a real processing hog, and the mini 4 just can't keep up. Time to upgrade to a mini 5 or 6.

Though it is still on the compatible list of DJI for the fly app 1.5.1...
Well I guess it is time to think about an alternative.

iPad Mini 4 doesn’t cut it any more especially with Fly app. Old processing power now. Time to update, like me having tu use my IPhone 12 Pro until I can afford newer Mini IPad.
