I was in Costco today and found a pile of auto sun screens for $7.95. A cloth covered pair of hoops you bend and twist to fold in on itself. One side is blue, the other silver. Cut it in half and have a pair of instant helipads. Tape or spray paint some markings if you like, and use whichever side gives the Mavic more contrast to home in on. Extra material in the corners can be spiked through to the ground to hold it in place if windy. Long nails ought to work.

Of course, you could spend $20 and get the same thing preprinted on Amazon, or buy the automotive one and a six pack to share with a friend who will appreciate the free spare helipad! And if you also want to use it as intended, don't cut it and just fold the wrong color in for your landing zone.

I've made similar gold and silver (really shiny) fabric for photography use. Come to think of it that LowePro oversized fanny bag with attachable pack might hold the Mavic and accessories. Gotta go dig it out of the closet… sure haven't used the 35mm SLR in recent decades.

Later!
