Hello, I have a Magic 2 pro. Installed the dji go 4 app on an older android phone (Samsung msg 550t) and can use that on the Magic 2.

Just got a magic mini and when I try to find the dji fly app to install it doesn’t show u in the play store.

Am I missing something? Can I just use dji go 4 on the mini?

You can’t use Go4 for the Mini. I suspect your Android device isn’t compatible. Did you check on the DJI site?

no the go4 app will not work with the MM go in the app store type in DJI and all the apps should come up then scroll down till you get to the fly app and you should be able to download it

I don’t think the phone is compatible. It’s not in the DJI list.

True, it’s old and I don’t see it on the list but it’s curious that dji go 4 installed ok and works. Phone does show android 6.0.1installed.

Maybe a way to get around it. I’m an iPhone guy though, so not sure.

Have you tried downloading it directly from DJI's site and installing it from there? HERE IS THE LINK

Your phone is running 16gb(I think that's what it's called), it needs to be 32 or 64 in order to work with that app. Of the 7 devices (tablets and phones) I own none of them were compatible so I ended up returning my mini.
Really disappointing, DJI really messed up with the new app not working on most phones. There must have been a ton of disappointed people Christmas day when they found out that they couldn't us their new present.

Your phone probably has a 32bit architecture while DJI Fly requires 64 bit.

This is probably why it may not appear in the google play store on the phone.

DJI Go 4 supports 32 bit as well so it's available

You can check using this process

Well, thanks everyone for the help but it’s confirmed. The Samsung phone is not compatible. Too bad, it’s an older phone but in great shape. Would have been great as a dedicated controller phone. Thanks again for all the help!

Yeah, that's why I'm so happy that my Huwawei Mate 20 Pro works superbly well with the FLY app! The lil arms on the bottom of the controller which grab/pinch your phone are almost fully opened-up/stretched-out when I slide my Mate 20 Pro in! I would just invest money in the cheapest possible phone if mine was not compatible - just so that I can fly and I would then keep this phone just for that reason only! This may also mean its time to upgrade your smartphone people. You can get a budget Samsung with 64bit architecture for like 250 or 300 USD or so!

I can't imagine not being able to fly my beloved, awesome, great, lil, special, super sweet, cute, beautiful & gorgeous Mavic Mini! That would make me cry for sure, even though I'm like 35 years old - I truly love my Mini with all my heart and I take great, great care of it!

I really think that the Android App will soon be compatible with more Android devices/phones, but really now guys - are there any other phone models which are NOT compatible with the Fly application? I'm asking from your personal experience - especially expensive ones should all have no issues at all!

Sweet

PS: I really really think that DJI Mavic Mini is the best lil drone out there for the price it is, price/quality = best value ever! Just wish I had 2 extra batteries for more flying and enjoying!

i would guess you like it then great ,happy flying

RAM on Samsung msg 550t is only 1.5GB.
Play wants to see 4GB installed before it will present the app.
Some have had success with only 2GB installing manually but that's probably the absolute minimum and probably with nothing else running where most of the RAM is not being used.
