DJI starts group to advocate for proper "use of UASs, known as drones"

This is the Australia situation with recent new rules.
I suppose various governments will end up with similar rules.

Drone Laws in Australia - We explain CASA CASR 101 laws for RPAS in Australia

This is via a training group so naturally they have a "particular angle".

Similar parameters- max alt 400 feet, stay visual, no night time, 3 nautical miles limit from controlled airports, etc

I foresee problems with interpretation on "populous areas", distance from people and cars etc. As soon as you see the word "reasonable" it becomes gift to the legal industry to thrash out.

I guess the important thing to do at this stage of the industry is for each of us to be careful and form a strong band of "good guys" that can hopefully balance out the inevitable idiot that does something negative that the media can feast upon and give the rule makers undue powers.

I saw a good comment somewhere that encourage pilots to post their quality images (preferably not in suspect areas, e.g. over crowds, busy roads, high altitudes at night and the like) so the population doesn't get the idea that these things simply spy on people and cause aircrafts to crash!

The other quotable quote is "If in doubt - there is no doubt".
In other words if you sense it may not be a good idea, then you are correct!

We love these gadgets. Have fun.
