I was reading on another thread and found this link which amoung other things states:

> the Act also allows the FAA to require hobbyist drone pilots to pass a knowledge test before flying.

Does any one know if or when the testing requirement will become law?

As far as I know none of the new rules have been put into place yet, and you should be following the rules or guidelines as currently specified on the FAADroneZone website, for flight under section 336, until the new regulations take effect. I don't think anyone knows when that will be.

No test needed currently. This could change at anytime. Currently Hobbyist flyers are instructed to fly under Part 336 until the new regulations are "codeified"

Part 336 does not require a hobbyist flyer to the knowledge test (which is still under development by the FAA).
Its coming though...
