Editing software

What video editing software are people using?

Have been using an older version of premiere pro but my struggling laptop is not up to job.

Also tried filmora but seems to leave artifacts in exported video.

Have a new laptop coming and was thinking of buying some new software to take advantage of it.

Was thinking davinci resolve to avoid Adobe's cloud pricing.
