Expected realistic range?

Having never owned or flown a DJI quad before, what do you expect the realistic range to be in 1) a typical suburban neighborhood with no buildings higher than 4 floors and 2) in a rural area with small 1-2 acre meadows and semi-thick pine forest?

Assuming NO severe elevation differences resulting in the drone being below a ridge in the terrain.

I know the exact RF protocol is supposedly different than the phantom series, but I imagine it's pretty close that some of you could give a reasonable opinion on the realistic range (forget about battery life) in the scenarios described above.

With the Phantom 3 Pro as it gets further away you need line of sight even if you can't see it.
In practice that might mean going higher as you go further, or starting from a somewhat elevated spot.
Although the new Occusync is supposed to be better the same principles will apply.
In a difficult spot you are going to struggle by 2000 feet or less, in a good location the battery is going to limit you more than radio range.
It sounds like the video feed is significantly better than on the phantoms, that was always what started to break up first.
