Got someone PM me on Facebook claiming that he can flash the firmware on my MM from CE to FCC for a price. I google around for info and I couldn't find anything about flashing the MM firmware. Anyone here know anything about this?

Personally I would'nt do it. If something happens, crash, flyaway etc. Dji will request for flight log etc and if they found out what happened. Say goodbye to dji care/warranty.

If one of your top priorities in a drone is range, then maybe a Mavic 2 would be for you? In the UK with a CE version (unmodified in any way) I get a good couple of miles in clear locations such as at the beach with no break up of video feed or loss of control. In towns it will be limited because of the amount of wifi, but I have flown it way beyond the line of sight until the video started breaking up - at least half a mile.

PS - that flight path was from an area bordering a town, and there was a lot of wifi around the take off point, but the flight was over open countryside.

its not possible. because for MM its hardware based restriction not software..
