Hi All,

I am heading to Key West in a couple of weeks and planning to bring the drone. I know in the past, you had to register with the FAA prior to flying. However, someone mentioned to me that this is no longer necessary if you are just flying for fun. Do I still need FAA approval?

Also, does anyone have any experience with the no fly zones in key west? I saw on DJI that almost the whole keys are warning zones? Can i still fly? I plan on going deep sea fishing, can I fly while i am off the coast?

Thanks for any help!

You must register with the FAA here before flying.

You may place the FAA registration number any where on the Mavic and it does not have to be on the outside (ie. battery compartment) .
One registation number is issued and it can be used on multiple drones without having to apply for additional drone registration numbers for each drone.

I can't register my drone at FAA. Always show me a message "Zip Code you supplied failed validation"
