From Long Island but travel all over (Mavic 2 Pro)

Hey everyone. New to flying (Mavic 2 Pro) and to this forum. Am looking for some great places to fly on LI. Ive been to captree. Would love to understand the best places to launch from. I found a parking lot near a school but there must be others. Also interested in the parks in Brooklyn and queens, especially Brooklyn Bridge. I travel a lot and would like to start taking my drone with me. Just as a newbie, get a little nervous. Thanks everyone.

Then this might look familiar to you...I'm also from Huntington, but in FL for the winter. I hope to do a lot more around the water in the summer. Maybe we can do some of it together from my boat.

(Full disclosure: this pic is from my Inspire 1, so technically off-topic, but related to poster's location.)
Background on the pic - I went to the end of Southdown Rd, and the lighthouse was completely obscured in fog except for the very top. I thought that would be a great picture, but by the time I got home, grabbed the inspire suitcase, got back to the beach, got the iPad ready and mounted, got the Inspire out of travel mode, attached the camera, and launched, the fog had moved away from the lighthouse. All reasons for purchasing my M2P.
