Front sensors

Do they work at night? Very new owner. Sorry for such a basic question.

Nope. That’s how I crashed on my maiden voyage. As a new owner I would recommend waiting to fly at night till you are really comfortable. It’s a whole different kind of flying/navigating.

The only sensors that work in the dark are the ultra sound bottom sensors and all they do is keep it from hitting the ground while in a hover

It would be best not to assume any of the sensors will work properly at night or in other low light conditions.

I turn mine off! Useless. Low light they don't work, shooting video/photos into the sun (e.g. sunrise, sunset) while moving it often gives errors and stops, totally destroying the video or time lapse sequence.

During the day if you are flying around trees they seem ok once calibrated. Since there is no side or back sensors, you need to watch in those directions anyway, might as well turn them off and just watch the drone.
