Anyone have a handle on what Permits/Licenses you need to fly in Suffolk County Long Island, NY

Hey Brettt883,

Just looking for places near my location to fly my drone. There are a few towns where you can register for a permit, but there're usually only for a specific date and time.

Suffolk County provides a permit for flying in Suffolk County parks (Smith's Point, Blydenberg, Gardiner Manor, etc.). You can get an annual pass for $35 (you have to have a Suffolk County green card) and then you make an application to the main office in Sayville for the park/dates/times you want to fly. It takes about 5 days to get the sign approval. One issue is weather since beyond a week or so there is no way to know if the weather on the day you're applying for will be good so if it's a weekend I'd put down both days on the application just in case one day is a washout.
