I've been the proud owner of a Mavic Air for 4 days now, and I've managed to fly it each day so far.
The first time, I took it to a huge wide open space, set it to beginner mode, fitted the prop guards (I would have wrapped it in cotton wool if I could) and flew it.
I was amazed how easy it was to fly and how overwhelming all the telemetry was, presented on that small screen!
Since then the guards are off its out of beginner mode and I'm feeling more and more confident with it. I'm also in total awe of how it performs and the design and technology that's packed into such a tiny thing, I love it.
I try to do something different each time I fly it. Yesterday I tried out all the quickshots and today I plan to practice figure of eights with changes of altitude on visual and then just using the screen and telemetry. (Scary)
I have to say, this forum and Youtube have provided me with a wealth of information and advice but there's one question I can't find the answer to.
Is it possible to prevent the radar coming on by default? Each tine I turn it off it reappears next time I turn on. I'm sure it will be invaluable later but for the moment,
flying in wide open spaces, its just a bit more screen clutter.

There are no settings to configure what displays there as the default. It is quite the invaluable tool though. Here are a few videos that explain how to use it:

Thank you gentlemen for the warm welcome.
Pross, 9I was flying on the old Harrowbeer airfield near Yelverton and its only since I got back that I found out it contravenes the local bye laws to fly on Dartmoor.
