| Hi everyone, Another tour above my new "playground" ;-) At the mouth of the Douro River, where it meets the Atlantic Ocean, four historic structures stand watch over one of Portugal's most important maritime passages. Captured at dusk in late October, this aerial perspective reveals the sentinels that have guided vessels safely into Porto for generations: Farolim da Barra do Douro - The northern beacon marking the river's entrance Phare de Felgueiras - The iconic lighthouse standing on its isolated rock formation Farol do Pontão - The channel light guiding ships through the passage Pontão da Barra do Douro - Molhe Sul - The southern breakwater lighthouse These structures aren't just navigational aids—they're witnesses to centuries of maritime history, from fishing boats to cargo ships, through countless storms and peaceful sunsets over the Atlantic. Enjoy the flight, Cheers, Matt |
