Thanks for all the help on the hand catching post.

I have yet to try this. My launch routine at times seems a ritual or offering to the internal mechanisms to have the enable the RTH button when needed.

1) remove gImble cover preflight inspection
2) turn on remote
3) turn on drone
4)plug in djgo 4 device and launch app
5) turn on goggles
6) set home point
7) take off
8) ascend 35 ft hover for 5 sec
The precise take off button has served me well, even on a slight slope.

I imagine a hand launch would just change the order of seps 6 & 7?

The home point is established when the Mavic has sufficient GPS satellite reception. It would not matter if hand launching or not.

I would add steps:
5a) Confirm the "radar" indicator and map pointer both agree with the actual heading of the AC. This helps rule out local magnetic interference.
5b) Ensure you have strong GPS reception.
