Hi fellow DJI Mavic pilots !

I also became a proud owner of the wonderful DJI magic pro since halfway December 2017. As a frequent traveller my drone will become my travel buddy for my next travels all around the world.

Within a month I will do my first trip to Lanzarote. I was planning to take my drone to shoot some great pics and movies BUT ….. yesterday I've got a reply from air company Volotea : drones and lipo's are not authorized as cabin baggage …. this really sucks ….

I have some other travel plans for later this year (Scottish Highlands, Indonesia, West-Australia) so I'll check everything carefully ….

I was just wondering: is there a list ( a black list) available with air companies to avoid because they don't authorize drones ? I suppose there also must be a list with the countries where drones are forbidden ?

Best regards,
Filip

Hi Filip, you mentioned that drones and lipo's are not authorized as cabin baggage. But can't you checked in the drone and hand carry the batteries?

Hi Filip, you mentioned that drones and lipo's are not authorized as cabin baggage. But can't you checked in the drone and hand carry the batteries?

I Talked with Volotea customer service yesterday about this.
They told me that drones is allowed if the battery capacity is under 160wh. You have to carry the battery in the cabin and the drone itself have to be sent in the on hold/checked in baggage.

They also told me that I could only carry one battery in the cabin.
