Haven’t flown in South Africa yet. Guess I'll have to see it thru your lens (a fine one). The Mavic Pro is a fabulous machine for the beginner and the pro alike. Lots of fellow Capetowners can help you adjust to local regs (if SA has them), and over 120,000 others of us from around the world are here to help you advance as a pilot and photographer.

Be sure to read the manual! Be sure you practice using “Find My Drone”. Chances are you’ll crash, and perhaps lose your Mav. Just be sure you know how to retrieve it!

Im also based in Cape Town. May I ask where you have gone for some flights? Looking for good spots within the requirements.

Own a mavic mini 1 and a mini 2.
