Helping missing person (Lake Okeechobee)

Today is day 5 of the search for Nik and I live only 30 mins east of the lake. I have my Mavic and 3 batteries and I'm home all week. I just don't feel right not helping.

Anyone know of the legalities of me helping. It's been on my mind all day and I wish I had a group of friends all with drones so we could look. It only takes one person to bring this father back to his family.

I’d watch out for Search and Rescue Helos or Planes searching in the area. It’s a great idea, but I’d check with someone in command.

The one thing stopping me right now is the thought of interfering with their birds in the air. I'd like to keep the ceiling at 100' and drop it to 50 just to have another pair of eyes searching. Its a large area and a lot of time has passed. If I had a boat I'd already be out there.

I did email FWC tonight as they're in charge and I'm waiting to hear back from them.
