Yes...I guess it pays to store them about 25% charged.

And the batteries are still good?

Yup! I had stored them 1/4 charged as suggested by the experts. Strangely, both controller and batteries took a while (about 6 hrs) to get a full charge. Now, they take about 15 minutes or so.
