In our New Mexico high desert, fall colors are primarily gold and yellow with some green from trees that have yet to turn. The few reds you see are trees and bushes people have planted and not native to the high desert. The golds and yellows come from Cottonwoods and Quaking Aspens.

Nice color mix - right time of year!! Love the colors.

Nice video. Color change here in Western Nc has been erratic at best. Many places lost a lot of leaves due to a storm that came thru with high winds. Then the off and on warm / cold fronts have put a slow down on leaf change overall. Many places still have a lot of green, but oaks and others who usually come last are finally beginning to change. Dogwoods and other early leaf changers have mostly come and gone or went thru a freak out phase of slightly changing and now in final change before drop.

We get a lot of leaf lookers for the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mtns and many came to see and left before the change and were not happy. But, nobody controls mother nature and leaf change times. We're at about peak at many elevations (up to about 6k ft) and some places are past peak. CRAZY!
