Hi every body,

In first time I am worried about the life of my batteries with Temperature logged.

Flights Conditions:
MP1 DJI battery with 18 Charges ( like new very well balanced and no deviation balancing during flight)
MP1 DJI Original Props (noisy but efficient)

Ambiant temperature Is about 30° C (86ºF) DJI say: the maximum fly temperature is 40° C (105° F)
Wind Speed between 7 to 12 km/h
Weather Sunny with little cloud

First Logging flight told me:
Takeoff Battery 100%
Landing Battery 31%
Max Speed 46.04 km/h (no sport mode but wings mode)
Max Bat Temp 60.00°c ( 140° F)

Second Logging flight told me:
Takeoff Battery 100%
Landing Battery 37%
Max Speed 68,36 km/h (sport mode during 2 or 3 minutes)
Max Bat Temp 59,60°c ( about 140° F) too

As I Know
Temperature over 50°c (122° F) is not good for battery Life
Temperature over 60°c (140° F) Dammage battery
Everything at 60° c (140° F) you can't take it in hand over a few seconds

In fact after flying battery are hot but I can take in hand, so I think temperature sensor is probably not true ... or inside the battery is the right temperature.

actually I search a solution to cool the battery during flight,
help IF SOMEONE COULD GIVE ME IDEA

Modify Gain ?
changing props ?
Mod the battery plastic box ?
Other ?

Thank's
Denis

Do you think that a black chrome skin would cause the temp to rise?

#1 try flying in P mode instead of sport mode if the battery is getting too hot.

#2 get a handheld temperature gun and compare the battery temperature immediately after a flight to what DJI Go is telling you.

HERE IS ONE BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO SPEND THIS MUCH MONEY:

Amazon.com : Cuisinart CSG-625 Infrared Surface Thermometer, Silver/Black : Gateway

Thank's for the link.
i'am sure Bat Temp is not @ 60.00°c ( 140° F),
I can put my fingers on the sticker (bottom of the battery)
who is directly in contact with cell, but it's hot for sure.

The exact temperature do not matter, and your right, flying speed warm the battery
After flying only 38% of the battery in P mode an very slow fly I get 44° c.
It's proof flying slowly draw less amps, so i'l try to reduce Yaw and Pitch gain.

but I think for longer fly time the battery doesn't cool enough.
Searching a way to cool better the battery, I watch video about open the battery..., maybe trying to drill small hole where I can for evacuate the battery heat.

@FrankieBadger
Of course dark color of the MP1 could not help, I don't like stickers, but if I found the bottom in white ... maybe

My First Mod for battery Cooling
I have 2 exact same battery
so I could compare if it's make difference ;-)

Yes I opened the battery box without broke it.

It take time and must go slowly...

to help you

1/ use a knife to be sure plastic is not glued (in fact not) but help to disassemble

2/ on the back of the battery (rear when it's in the quad)
you have 2 marks to push with screw driver

3/ Then open from back to front slowly and help with screw driver and/or knife
