I know that the smart battery will discharge itself over some period of time but I've been wondering if it is a good idea to just let the Mavic (and Spark) hover to run a battery down every now and then? Particularly if it has been a couple of weeks since the battery was last used.
Is this good or bad for a battery?
Also, is it good or bad for the drone?

that is perfectly fine, but adds a (very) little ware and tear to your drone. i use the intelligent battery to usb charger that comes with the combo to charge my phone and it takes no time to bring it down to 50%

Good point, I had not thought of using it that way.
