Hi its way to cold to fly in Sweden right now so I just ask a simple question. If I fly straight ahead and then yaw a little will the mini then fly in a curve or continue to fly "sideways" in the same straight line as I began?

It will "Arc" in the sky :) If you fly fixed wing, think of Yaw as Rudder.

Does the mini 2 roll/bank when yawing?

If not then it will retain a deminishing amount of its original direction of travel for sometime after yawing. In close quarters this sideslip could lead to crashes.

Not really, no. Yaw is only a rudder application making it spin left/right. It will bank left or right only if giving aileron input to slide left or right.

With the gimbal stabilized images transmitted to your screen, you can't actually see any of the Mini's attitude changes happening as the screen image always stays perfectly level.

Getting a smoothly coordinated turn like this is easiest in Cinematic mode as the yaw is quite slow. Hold some forward stick to keep moving forward, while applying only a small amount of yaw input, and it will fly a smooth curve. But too much yaw input will cause the Mini to skid in the turn, or even "spin-out" backwards.

I found coming from fixed-wing models to quad-rotors was not at all intuitive, until after lots of practice. I always wanted to push the stick forward to pitch it nose-down, or pull back on the stick to pull out of a dive, whereas with the drone that merely slides it horizontally forward or back. And the throttle doesn't increase/decrease it's forward speed, merely makes it climb/descend vertically.

It's best to experiment first in a wide open field in Cinematic mode using only small stick inputs. Sport mode reacts MUCH faster and can very quickly lead to disaster if used in small spaces indoors!

So there is side slip until the speed in the original direction bleeds off.

This I see with the MM and it cost me two props on my M2P. Ironically they were brand new props too, it was a second hand drone and the original two props had minor chips and nicks, ho hum.

Thanx both for your input. Tomorrow its not that cold and I'll fly and practise your info/advice. :)
