How Goggles get their signal...

Working with Mavic 2 Zoom, Racing Edition Goggles, Smart Controller. Where do the goggles pull the video signal from? Is it coming from the controller or the drone? Thanks!!!

Video straight from the drone, but there's still data communication between all 3.

Bummer. I installed a booster on the controller to help in the mountains. I'll have to switch to an HDMI cable. Do you happen to know if there is a full screen mode for the HDMI out?
