Is it better to update drone and controller via phone or computer?

Also, I heard you need to update your batteries too? I have multiple batteries, so how would I update them all? Thanks!

Either ways works. If you ever need to downgrade the firmware, it's easiest to do from the DJI Assistant 2 application.

DJI GO will prompt you to upgrade the batteries if needed (as shown here). The batteries cannot be upgraded from the DJI Assistant 2 application.

Why on Earth do the batteries need to be flashed? I'm genuinely curious as to what they could possibly be doing that requires a battery flash --- especially since it seems they require the batteries be flashed every single time a FW update comes out, don't they?

Happy on 400 and sticking to it.

No. Most firmware updates do not include battery updates.

Me phone. I tried the Dji assistant and more likely to fail than through phone.

Yeah I'm having a lot of problems with the assistant2 on my windows8.1 laptop, tried for 5 hours the other day to get it to work on my computer. I borrowed my wife's win10 laptop and downloaded the assistant and it installed all of the drivers right away albeit every dialog box was in Chinese (probably set my wife's computer for failure) but it worked and connected right away calibrated the VPS cameras and checked out some flight data
