Kp Index = possible fly always and dropping out of the sky

As a complete noob, I had another pilot yesterday tell me about Kp index and using the hover app.

I was traveling in Las Vegas at the time and the Kp index was at 8 fortunately I decided not to put up the Mavic.

I am wondering if anyone has checked the Kp Index after some strange occurrence while flying?
