Left Stick Directly Up, No Movement

I have a relatively new MPP, latest firmware. Since I've started flying it, pushing the left stick straight up (into the detent) doesn't cause the MP to gain altitude unless I move the stick slightly left or slightly right. Moving it slightly left or slightly right causes it to immediately gain altitude as it should, but of course the MP will rotate a small amount while doing so, which isn't always optimal. I've recalibrated the sticks a couple times.

Suggestions?

Make sure you are in mode 2 on the controller.

Looks like you have a faulty RC. I suggest you send your RC back to DJI if it's too much of an inconvenience.

I am on mode 2. Ug, I was hoping it wasn't a hardware defect.

Try a stick calibration before anything else.

Calibration might fix it or reveal it cannot be fixed.
Perhaps something is physically loose or broken inside.

The sensors in under the stick work by sensing a magnet moving on the bottom of the stick. It sounds like you have a fault here unfortunately.
