My reply is as a Professional Land Surveyor but certainly not as a well accomplished drone operator, yet.
I do not know what GCP's are, so be easy on me.
After a few seminars on using drones for survey grade mapping, the concensus is that the MA (original 2018 vintage) is not really the best choice given its camera specs. Survey mapping is done with a large collection of still photos usually on a pre-determined flight path with Litchi style software. At 12MP, you need to be fairly low to get mapping grade detail, & as a result you need more photos, more flight time, etc.
The Phantom 4 Pro is the bird they all recommend for mapping. That said, at 200' I great shots with my Mavik Air.
I regularly use my Mavik Air 1 for photo mosaics. As a retired Pro Land surveyor, that's as near as I want to get to mapping these days. My vague interest is in volumes. A curse of a job when determining volumes of coal heaps in South Wales...:-(
