MA2 “frozen” in air

Just a question what I should have done better.

I made a very short flight in town to end the day.
The problem was that my MA2 when returning home stopped next to me just 2 m above the ground
and after that I couldn’t make any movement: not up, not down, not forward, backward etc. After trying to switch it off, the only thing I could think was to grab the MA2 (motors were running like crazy when I hold it) and at the end pushed the button on the battery to switch if off.

Some info:

Can you post the flight log ? It's better to post both the .TXT and .DAT files.

I am not sure if these are the correct files.

How did you manage to push the battery button with props still turning? Still got all your fingers?! ?
In know from bloody experiense with my old MA how sharp those blades are. But at the MA2 they are better positioned and I still have all ten of them in good shape. Thanks for your concern.

I hope these arre the correct files.

None of these 4 files are the log of the mentioned flights as the messages are different from those listed in your first post. I am not sure about the .The .DAT file should have the file name ending with "FLY034".

Is this the right one?

Can you post the .TXT file as well ? The filename contains the time stamp. It should be very close to that in the filename of the .DAT file.

I am afraid that's not the right .TXT file. The filename should be DJIFlightRecord_2020-08-22_[04-47-xx].TXT or DJIFlightRecord_2020-08-22_[04-48-xx].TXT

It seems that the craft was frozen because it got stuck in the RTH state after detecting obstacles in the flight path. The course of events is as follows :

RTH was triggered due to low battery at 27 ft from the home point :

Shortly after that, the craft detected obstacles ( you ? ), probably in front of it and stopped flying forward. The craft was just 8 ft from the home point.

According to the user manual, the craft should have ascended to avoid the obstacle and continued flying towards the home point but it didn't. May be it's because the craft was less than 20 m from the home point when RTH was triggered ?

As the result , the craft was stuck in the RTH state in which the response to control inputs is limited. You have mainly applied yaw and throttle controls during that time period :

According to the user manual, it should have responded to the throttle control. May be the response is designed to be different when obstacles are detected ?

If it happens again, may be you can try cancelling RTH.

Thanks a lot. I thought I tried cancelling RTH, because for RTH it should ascend to the right height first, which I didn't want because there were several heavy electric lines a few meters above it. That's why I wanted to land by myself.
My lessons:
1. never choose a RTH on a street corner with huge wall and several electric poles and hardly any room to move around.
2. be very careful to take off with a low battery level, even for a very short flight (in difficult circumstances)
3. and most important: stay tuned to this forum, for the help in most cases is extraordinary
Thanks again.
