A good friend of mine (trustworthy guy) has a MPP and never flies it and wants to trade it with me for my Air. As far as I know they have basically the same camera but the MPP is quieter and has a better TX link. Anybody have thoughts on whether this would be a good trade? This wasn't prompted by anything, just a discussion of our drones and he was like "if you want my MPP I'll trade for your Air. I never fly it anyway."

(Edited to say he "offered" to trade it; he doesn't; really care.)

check the batteries how many charges cell voltages etc,and obviously the condition of the MPP,if it all checks out then you would be getting a more capable drone with the benefits of ocusync which is mush more stable if he is really a good friend then he should let you try it out anyway, and you let him try your air at the same time if you do go ahead make sure you both register your new drones with DJI so the flight info goes to the right person

As per OMM above - check it out carefully, but at first glance, I'd call that an upgrade!

To me that is a good deal. Check them both out so you each know what you're getting. Then make the trade. Jump on that deal if the MPP is in good shape! If you don't want it, I would be happy to trade a MA for his MPP. Perfect like-new condition!

Depends on how much you like your Air. It's smaller and with the zipper pouch it's very handy to carry along anywhere any time. The MPP is a definite upgrade! and I don't think the Air has a true 3 axis gimbal.

Actually yes, the MA has a full 3-axis gimbal. The Spark has a 2-axis gimbal.

Thanks everybody. And good call on looking carefully at the batteries. He’s a careful guy but I’m guessing he isn’t aware of the best practices for them. He’s also vastly wealthy (he has a new Tesla, a Range Rover, a BMW 7, and a Maserati) and doesn’t care about the money or value. He just wants to still have a drone but is offering me a favor.

Awesome. Might he want to trade his spare Maserati for a Hyundai ?
