Mavic Mini 3 Pro and V2 Smart controller

Looking to add the just released DJI Mini 3 pro to my quiver., I was all geared up because the rumor was it would work with the V2 Smart controller (I own a Mavic 3 Cine), which would give the ability to live stream with a sub 250 drone as that controller has an HDMI out, and I understand the controller that comes with the Mini 3 doesn't. They sell a version that doesn't have a controller. I talked to my buddy over at Drone Nerds and he said this wont work, but the drone was just released today so his info might be inaccurate.

Does anyone know otherwise?

Too early to know.
Give DJI a few months and possibly there will be a firmware upgrade to allow the RC Pro to be used with the Mini 3. I think that DJI wants to sell as many mini controllers and minis as they can and THEN make the Pro compatible.
Only time will tell.

The version without the controller won’t be available until August, so I would expect the RC Pro support to come sometime in that timeframe.
