Mavic mini starting order

The correct starting order for the Mavic mini ?
Mini, remote control, Dji Fly?
order of stopping
inversely?
No ... wouldn't recommend to start the drone before the RC.

1. Start RC with already connected mobile device
2. Start app (if it's not auto starting with the RC)
3. Drone

Power off in reverse ...

Does it really matter..I have done it all ways with all my Mavics and have never had any issues.
Not saying that’s right but is just how I have done it.
Maybe cause I do it quick is why it’s always worked.

As the Mini seems to be the Wifi access point (the Mini scans for a free channel) I always first power on the Mini, then the remote and as soon as both are connected I plug in the USB cable for starting the Fly app.

i guess we are all different
my method is rc connected to device first (then turn on rc)
when screen says rc connected start drone
then wait for the screen to change to the camera view
and then i always turn off the drone first
i guess it stems from my early RC days when you always started the controller first then your plane car boat etc and then turned things off in reverse as it prevented someone from taking control of your plane car etc if they were on the same frequency and it has stuck

Yeah ... will work, but my recommendation comes from mainly two "no must" factors ... 1. DAT log is recorded to your mobile device from AC power on to power off ... if no RC/device is on by then maybe important stuff is missed ... which can come in handy some day ;) 2. Think it's a good & recommended practice that your means of control is available once the drone wakes up ... overly cautious, maybe.

The Mini have the same connection method as the Mavic Air ... no free channel scanning is going on that requires the RC to be off during AC powering on. Make the RC setup with device ready & hooked up & power on the RC ... you don't have to do it in 3 steps.

It should make absolutely no difference functionally except, as @slup pointed out, to the completeness of the mobile device DAT file.

Well dont doubt that coming from you but have never had to
look into those files and might wish I could someday but
like I said it has never mattered how I start up. I do see what
your saying though

There is the small chance that the AC could go to fail-safe mode and take off if the RC is turned off first. It's said to have happened for other Mavics.

However the AC would have to be idling, and HP be over 60ft away to RTH on signal loss.

@Ralle did that answer your question ?

The recommended (and taught in all pilot schools) ..
1st Turn on accessories (tablet, mobile, etc.)
2nd Turn on RC
3rd Turn on aircraft.
4th Open Flight App.
To turn off ..
1º .- Check flight records.
carry out the rest of the processes in reverse order.

That sequence suggests that those instructors never needed (or probably never knew about) the mobile device DAT file data. If you care about that then you want the app running and connected to the RC before the aircraft powers up, which is what I always do.

Just curious but just how many flight schools have you attended to say that.?

With so many different opinions, I would think that DJI should have someone monitoring this forum to provide a definitive answer.

The different opinions are all valid, since any startup order works if all you care about is flying the aircraft. It only matters if you care about the completeness of the DAT logs. DJI gives no definitive advice because they don't expect users to be looking at those logs.

I made a shortcut on my iPhone after seeing someone else post it up.
1. 100% brightness
2. Set volume to 100%
3. Turn on do not disturb
4. Turn on airplane mode
5.Turn WiFi off
6. Open DJI app.

I made another shortcut in reverse when done!

Works UNLESS you have to unlock geo-zone.

We’ve had em and members dogged em and they left.
Well being active members anyway. Sure they read here though.
How you think they come up with all the new features .?
