Hi,

I'm seeing mavic pro batteries on ebay with a starting price of $47.99 but yet an original can start at $105 at my local DJI store. Can I trust the batteries on ebay for this price? What are your opinions?

Thank You,

They could possibly be OK or they could just as easily burst into flames. Cloning batteries is big business these days.
Take a look on You Tube to see what happens with clone / fake batteries.

get mine from a DJI approved dealer here in the UK currently around £84 for a MPP the mavic 2 batts are more expensive as they are a 4 cell

myself i would not buy a cheap battery, its what keeps the mav airborne ,and if it fails then you know the rest, yes even a genuine battery can fail, but at least you have a sporting chance with it

PowerExtra has had a good reputation with their after-market DJI batteries but not sure if they ever came out with M2 batteries. The only issue that has sometimes come up is when firmware updates occur, the AC has problems communicating with the battery but I believe PowerExtra is able to fix the problem.

Yep, I look for 2 things: clear indication that DJI is the manufacturer, and that the vendor is an authorized DJI reseller. For batteries I also alway make sure they are new.

I understand the thought of saving money, but is it worth to risk the drone?
Clearly, batteries aren't cheap, but a crash resulting from a piece you cannot trust is way more to bear.

If you would really like to compare, you need to bring in the costs of loss/repair into the calculation ... and then you'll see, an original and new battery won't be as expensive as thought.
You might have a good chance not to have a problem, but for me personally, that's the same thrill as going into a Casino and risking money you can't dispense just for the sake to get you out of money problems.

Yes, but as you said, the odds are much more in your favor than a casino, especially from a reputable vendor like PowerExtra.

I feel this battery is better then OEM. Never had a problem:

I purchaed two of the Powerextra batteries for my Mavic Pro and I am extremely happy with them. Charge as fast s oem, get 20 -25 minutes flight time depending of wind conditions.

its a similar story between props there are OEM and then there is MAS a well known brand and one that is used by a lot of flyers, the problem arises with the multitude of questionable products in between its the same with batts a lot of none OEM products that are made for DJI drones, and dont actually contribute to keeping it in the air are fine and often a lot cheaper, but batteries and props need to be up to spec

Interesting, I saw that Drone Valley review a while ago. Those batteries are available here in the Philippines. They cost about $140.00 vs DJi $150.00.

I'm just curious why anyone would spend that much, if you look at the posting above for amazon, you can get 2 packs for $115.99.
