Mavic pro engines do not start. No smart phone to use.

Hello Pilots, Mechanics and Techs,

I borrowed a mavic pro from a friend. He never used it once. I jumped on this forum and learnt a lot about it.

Right now I am stuck at.

No engines spin up. Also the hand RC never says "Ready to Fly".

All batteries full, Controller links to drone, lights all green slow flash.

Try moving both joysticks in and down... Nothing
Try moving both joysticks down.and out ... Nothing
Try doing alsorts of things even holding toungue out to the side... Nothing.

Any one know the answer to this ?
Should the mavic be able to fly without smartphone ?

Once start the battery on the drone the motors sort of move a little bit all in sync about 3 degrees.

Would a factory reset help ?

You'll need to register it in DJI GO 4 before you can fly it.

DJI GO 4 is an app ?SO I need to get a new smart phone ?or is there a work around ?

Yes, it's an app. You'll need an Apple/Android device that is able to run that app.

Flying without the app is a rather dangerous thing to do, so I'd recommend you fly with the app even after registering the Mavic in DJI GO.

A smartphone is one way to go, or a tablet is another option.
