I'm flying in a close quarters situation soon (not people) and decided to get the Prop Cage setup for my Mavic.
I can see why they're no so common but I admit they do have their use.
Thought I'd share a few of my thoughts and tests in case anyone was interested.

I regularly fly with a Samsung Gear 360 (2017) camera attached to the underbelly of the Mavic and find it barely affects flying. Since the Mavic can basically carry it's own weight twice (734g) being able to lift an additional 160g payload doesn't affect it much.

However flying with the Cage on (and shorter props) the difference in flight performance is already huge... Half the flight time, much slower, super loud and constantly hitting the "Max Motor Speed". I haven't done a wind speed test yet but it is noticeable, you'll need to be familiar with sport mode and not rely on RTH.

How does it fly with the additional 160g of weight now (on top of the 180g cage)... not so good unsurprisingly.
Max Motor Speed just hovering, significantly less responsive and difficulty gaining altitude.

Needless to say I don't think I'll be using the 360 camera with the Prop Cage again.

Here's a quick video from some of my testing.

Mavic 734g
Propeller Cage 180g
Samsung Gear 360 - 130g
Mount 30g
