Mavic takes to the skies on "Blacklist"

Hand launch to boot

By the way, the show is called Blacklist, not "Blindspot." The weird thing is that when the drone is first shown some 10 seconds before, it has no props on it, as you can see the bare rotor (see photo below), and then the drone is somehow armed and launched by someone else far enough away that they can't catch them, as he says, "I'm not the one controlling it." So within 10 seconds, he loads the chip into the bag which is already zip-tied through the air vents on the bottom of the Mavic, installs the props, turns on the battery, so someone else far away can arm the motors and launch it, and fly it away! Not exactly possible in that time frame, and why on earth would he not have the props already installed, except that's the way the drone is shipped, with the rear props uninstalled! Not exactly good publicity for DJI consumer drones, showing a terrorist using a Mavic to transport stolen electronic chips! Certainly plays up their quick deployment, though, even if unrealistically, and shows their extreme portability! Later in the show, they are looking for the pilot with the drone, and he is seen carrying a small camera bag. In the end, the pilot is run over and killed by a car, and the drone and the chip are recovered! Happy ending!
