I just purchased a Mavic four Pro from SAO trading Inc. Out of Japan. I received it in four days through FedEx. With no tariffs or customs fees. I paid after tax and shipping $3960. If anybody is looking 4 a mavic four pro I'll tell you to get it while you can. Happy flying!

Creator Combo is back in stock at Adorama as of this minute.
$5500.
They are ripping people off. I got the creator combo with the ND filters for $3960. Shipped to my door in four days. There were no tariffs customs or duty fees. I also got a policy from State Farm to insure the drone for $70 a year. And this does not affect homeowners insurance whatsoever. It is a personal property policy that covers anything that may happen. Fly aways, crashes, theft etc. I ordered this on the night of September 10 it was on my doorstep on the 15th. I hope this info helps anyone interested.

Only if you consider Adorama doing it legally ripping people off. I can assure you that Adorama has already paid proper tariffs on all sales, and their increased sale price reflects their increased tariff costs. Originally, they were selling them at $4650. Now they are selling them for $5500.

Your current Japan order experience definitely provides a new data point after August 28th. However, one successful anecdote is no assurance that anyone else will have the same experience, even with the same seller. Not every package is X rayed or opened to verify the contents is what the seller claimed. Some just make through without any scrutiny. Drug dealers and smugglers count on it. Those that don't make it through and are seized are just collateral losses that are a business cost of smuggling.

Are you privy to the Customs Declaration Form submitted by the seller showing what he claimed the contents was, and its value, and its Harmonized code? Can you share what they declared?

If no tariffs were charged at all, there has to some type of fraud on the form, as the country of origin is still China, even if shipped from Japan. Currently, minimum tariffs of 15% are supposed to be imposed on all imports from all countries, regardless of value, and regardless of the contents. For new goods manufactured in China, it is currently supposed to be 55%, as I understand it. That's what the Canadian DJI dealers are charging to ship to the U.S. plus a 5% handling fee, for a total of 60%!

I'm willing to believe we simply don't know what's going on here. What we read and what we hear is one thing but whatever happens on the ground is different. It's almost like absolutely nothing is going on with China. Practically all the Chinese (and Hong Kong) sellers on eBay have their listings marked as "all paid up" and "nothing more to pay" in terms of fees and tariffs. Perhaps everything is "suspended" while trade talks are in progress and phone calls are being made. The entire ordeal is all about posturing and blustering anyway, it's not unrealistic to believe the customs folks haven't bothered to do 5x times the amount of work starting in September until they're sure which is why I plan to place my orders imminently while the door is open. I'm ordering everything I can get from China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong....all of Asia, while I still can before this really blows up in our face.

Honestly, I have yet to hear about the Temu's and the Ali's of the world caving in due to the de minimus repeal, has it really happened? We should know this by now 2-3 weeks in but I've only heard of a few issues here and there and the culprits seem to be the usual suspects (UPS, Fedex, DHL) who are collecting money and will probably never give it back even if the tariffs are reversed. So far I have heard more yays than nays regarding buyers paying tariffs on Ebay drones. It's all about the risks and if you are risk adverse, you pay more (often twice as much) for the domestic sellers who have super marked up their goods or you take your chances, hold your nose, and buy international on eBay. I'm in the latter camp for now.

You haven't answered the question of how your seller avoided the tariffs in his shipment to you. He obviously did not truthfully declare the contents was a new DJI Chinese manufactured Mavic 4 Pro Creator Combo. What did they claim instead on the U.S. Customs Declaration Form?

I did not receive the form. So I’m not sure what they declared. All I know is I got the link from a friend who said he purchased one there without any tariffs. So I pulled the trigger. I ordered one and got it the same way. FedEx dropped it off at my door without a question. I was only being kind offering the information to anyone who is interested. If you don’t like how I got it, I’m sorry, but I got it no fees.

If you log into tracking at FedEx.com you should be able see some of the details including the declarations.

Hey, I ordered two the same way you did back in August from S. Korea, so I am not disliking how you got it in any way. Just wanting to figure out how they are now getting around the expiration of the de minimus exception. The fact that a friend ordered before you is significant. We all also waited until multiple members had similar success back in August. Just to be clear, though, Adorama isn't ripping people off, but they are doing it legally, while our international confederates are skirting the tariffs. As long as the sellers are the ones doing the defrauding, I'm all for it! No reason to pay more, if we can avoid it.

I logged into FedEx, And there was no information there. So I called FedEx and explain to them or rather ask them why there were no tariffs or fees. They told me the only information on the package was that it had lithium batteries. Other than that there was no information as to what was in the package. They told me if I needed further information to contact the seller. So I also sent them a message and am waiting for their response. I will let you know as soon as I get a reply. As I stated in a previous message I'm only trying to help anyone looking to get an M4P at a cheaper price while we still can. So don't shoot the messenger. I'm just glad I got mine!

No worries, here's where you find it when you login at Fedex.com and check the tracking. This is for a DJI drone battery:

I tried that and if I remember correctly you have to be the shipper to see the customs declaration.
I think you do as well but I have found some of the information to be buried in the tracking details which is why it's worth a look.

Also, having registered with Fed Ex with a username and password helps see more info even for receiving packages, and to see the Commodity Information. However, I myself have had intermittent success in seeing it on the same package, each time I check. I still haven’t reliably been able to find it consistently, but repeated trying usually will eventually reveal it for a preserving screenshot.

It's definitely worth trying to see the "recharacterization" by the sellers.
A drone battery is definitely not a, "CAMERA GRIP CONTROLLER S/N4078."
