micro usb

HI all...new to this forum...I thought I was being careful with my Mavic Pro controller but I guess not careful enough. Seems i've damaged the micro USB port so I can't attach cable. After a bit of hunting around I realize this is fairly common. Any suggestions on where to send controller for repair?? Thanks in advance for your help.

I sent mine back to DJI. They say fixed it but did not charge from the brick. Researched it and a conector was suggested , cant find the link but I have 2 extra and would ship to you for postage. Best part is it has a magnetic conector to the controller that you leave in so no stress, Someone may have order info.

I would be interested in the magnetic connector for the controller if anyone can recall the manufacturer or source.

Got mine in and they work great .

No.1 piece goes into the charging port on the TX where you leave it and the USB end goes into a charging block like you use for your phone or PC or whatever you use .The connecter is magnetized and you just stick em together . Only thing I have done wrong was pulling the cable straight out and pulled out the one in the TX, now I just pull down on it and it pop's loose .

Is there like a 1 foot version of the cable that's a USBC on the other end for flying? Or do you just use the USBA connector?

Not sure on the length and hadn't looked for the other. @Thunderdrones turned me on that one I have and maybe he can answer you .

I believe with the magnetic adapter, you can only charge the RC with that port. You instead would use the larger USB-A port below the arms to connect to your mobile device.
You should also be able to use the magnetic connection to connect to Assistant 2.

The reason the adapter likely won't work with a mobile device is because the magnetic connection is treating it as a micro-USB B, while the supplied short cables treat it as an A port.

OK that makes sense, you're probably better off with the A connector anyway.

Send it to DJI in California. It’ll be a cheap fix. I broke a prop and a few propellers and got scratches and it’s cost $166. Surprisingly low..

I used (past tense) magnetic connectors. Got them from Amazon. Be careful. Over time, they collect any small ferrous particles which contaminate the connection. Short? I don't know... maybe. Could magnetized connectors affect the compass reading in your monitoring device, or your AC? I don't know.

What I do know is that a compass reading in a drone is very important. So I don't want ANY purposely strong magnets anywhere near my drone equipment.

Like Remo said in Casino eliminating those that might talk... "Why take a chance?"

I found another reason that you don't want to use the magnetic NetDot connector attached to the side port of the controller while you are flying ...
I used one of these cables to charge the controller from a USB power-brick while I was flying the Drone (because my controller charges my Android phone). However, I found that the drone would not hover. It slowly but very deliberately descended while I had the NetDot cable head attached to the mico-USB tip in the controller. Soon as I disconnected it - all OK. I think that the magnetic head on the NetDot USB cable is enough to upset the magnets used in the controller sticks and screw up the position keeping ...

Agree. I’ve used them for about 10 months and never ever had an issue.
Never needed to recalibrate compass.
Others I know who use them have never had any problems either.

There is another thread on these started by @Thunderdrones and in it he was asked about the magnets and he said he had even tried moving a stronger magnet around a controller and had no effects and I trust what he says. I have had no issues with them in ether of mine .
As far as the what Remo said why take the chance, well I feel that way about not using these .
Use what you like and just don't fly into Remo
