Mavic Mini recovered from the sea after 24 hours immersion.
Aircraft is clearly a right off with obvious physical damage to gimble , lens, props and motors.

SD card, although no data recoverable is now cleaned dried and formatted and works great!

Battery removed cleaned drying..... any issues anyone can forecast with the battery.

Keep or Dispose??

Salt water is pretty much a death sentence for any electronics. I would absolutely not use it. A spare is $45 ... that's pretty inexpensive compared to the $149 for a Mavic 2 battery or $360 for a set of Inspire 2 batteries.

Dunking lithium batteries in saltwater is actually a pretty common method to completely discharge them before disposal. Sorry to say, but there's a fair chance the cells have been over-discharged and the battery is probably unrecoverable. If it does work again, I'd be very wary of it.

How did the Battery go in without the drone ?
If it was clearly just the battery , you might be fine.

Keep in mind the Power Button is Separate from the Battery , where as the Mavic
batteries would be toast, as the Power Button is easily Compromised by a few drops of even rain water.

The battery was recovered from a drone. Both of which were totally immersed in salt water for 24 hours before recovery.

plus point....writing a phone number on the drone in case found is definitely a positive thing to do! this was returned to me within an hour of discovery by a very helpful chap. Sadly the care package ran out a short while ago!!
