New Mavic Pilot - find my parrot!

Morning folks. I’ve taken the plunge into Mavic Mini 2 ownership partly owing to the UK / EU legislation changes but also because of its huge benefits of being small enough to take with me wherever I go and relaunching my old photography hobby.

Also I recently had a flyaway with my old parrot drone whilst myself and my young son had been getting back into flying. I’ll send the mini 2 out to search for it [emoji3]

Looking forward to reading about all your tips and getting back into an old hobby with a new twist!

Here are some things to help you get started with your Mini 2:

• The current Mini 2 manual can be downloaded here (it doesn't come in the box). Other important documents can be found on the Mini 2 downloads page.
  
  
• Check out this getting started guide for some tips not found in the Mini 2 manual.
  
  
• This video covers all the basics of the Mini 2.
  
  
• Your drone batteries will last longer if you use and maintain them like this.
  
  
• Practice flying outdoors in a wide open location that's free of all obstacles. Don't attempt to fly inside your house or in other confined locations.
  
  
• The drone records flight data each time you fly. You can decrypt and view those flight logs with these tools.
  
  
• Check out MavicHelp.com for commonly used accessories you might need.

Thanks for the welcome folks. It seems like a nice place to hang out. So around 15 minutes into my new experience and I’m 100m up and having a blast. This thing is SO much more stable than my old parrot that it can stay lost I think!

I even took off and left the SD card in the house but then discovered the DJI Fly stuff uploads to the cloud on the fly. This is awesome and the SD quality of DJI Fly isn’t too bad either.

It’s so easy to pack and get up and running in a couple of minutes. I can see this will be a really useful purchase!
