New Mini owner from Buffalo, NY

Well, a new mini owner on Monday when my drone arrives. Just in time to catch the leaves turn! I'm excited to get in the air and take my hobby of photography to the next level.

You'll find that the Mini almost flies itself. This can lead to overconfidence. Try to be conservative at first, and expand your horizons gradually. The Mini, at only 249 grams, doesn't handle wind as well as the heavier drones do. On windy days--you get those in the UK--, it's best to fly the Mini so that you have a tail wind on the way back.

Read your manual, and practice using "Find My Drone". Chances are you'll crash and perhaps lose your drone. Don't wait 'til that happens to try to learn under stress in less than ideal conditions. I grew up right down the street in Hoover Beach and went to Frontier. I have many memories of The Fruity Stand, that awesome fish fry place, and the steak snadwhiches at Red Top. Once again the world is reminding us how small it is

Thank you so much for the beginner tips, the link to the manual, and especially the windy tip. I've read that somewhere else and I'm strongly considering contacting DJI to see if I can send it back when it arrives and upgrade to the MA2
