Before flying/crashing your drone, read manuals, study laws, and practice with a toy quad or a nice app like Quadriem.
Find a great forum...check!
Establish a nice pre-flight checklist, and treat the Mavic like a flying DSLR / 4K movie camera at first, meaning fly ultra safe for the first few flights, that is when crashes will be likely to occur, or when you failed to perform one of your checks.

Thanks for the welcome!! Could be awhile before I get this thing but I have really good patience, comes from being a hunter and fisherman.
