Hey fellow Canadians, Don from Don Drones On just released his review of the latest Transport Canada Guidelines for mRPA's. Worth a watch.

Important to mention that with a couple of exceptions, these aren't actually rules, they were issued as guidelines but not mandatory. The mini is still technically exempt from every restriction that matters.

This might be what you want to believe but perhaps you should read the document. < 250g and everything else are "Aircraft."
The full document may be found at: https://tc.canada.ca/sites/default/files/2020-10/AIM-2020-2_ACCESS_E.pdf or just the RPAS section at: https://tc.canada.ca/sites/default/files/2020-10/aim-2020-2_rpa-e.pdf

I've read it forward and backwards. The RPAS rules literally start off with the clause that says they apply to drones between 250g and 25kg.

II assume you saw me post this in the other thread, but just to follow up, here's Transport Canada's own words on the subject:

"While we don’t restrict where you can fly a #drone that weighs less than 250 g (also called a micro drone), you must not put aircraft or people in danger. Keep everyone safe by flying smart."

You can cherry pick a year old document all you like. Maybe you should note a little further down the page, "

We will not respond to any questions sent from now until October 19. Please hold your questions until Monday at 9 am EDT. Thanks for understanding!"

And read the October CAR's in full. Do you really think <250g RPA's are going to stay exempt?

All I know is currently the CARs say they're exempt. Not gonna debate you anymore, the OP can believe who he likes. Fly safe and have a great day!
