When we connect smartphone with remote controller, should we use only the device has mobile data?
Just curious. Because I do have old smart phone I only use at home with wifi

You don't need to dude. I fly all the time with a old iPhone with no service. I really only use my iPhone as a display, for flight information, and camera controls. Other than that I care less. I don't care about a real time map or anything that requires data.

Thank you so much! So then I will have to download the newest firmware before I fly it correct?

No, you do not need the most recent firmware to fly. In fact, I would recommend that you don't use the latest firmware as it is very restrictive.

Most, including myself are two or three firmware updates behind for the reason of the restrictive crap.

Any idea if there are any potential issues with warranty claims if latest firmware isn't installed?
