Orientation data in metadata?

Does anyone know if orientation data is contained in the metadata data of image files?

In the image files, I don't think so. It would be a nice python script to correlate a flight log file and photo timestamps and inject the proper EXIF tag into the images.

No kidding. Wonder if that's something that would/could be implemented in future firmware updates - I can't imagine an extra datapoint included would be a big deal.

I am writing a web app that uses the meta data and had the same question. From looking at it, I don't think they do. Kind of surprising given all the other stuff that is in it. iPhone images do have the orientation information. Sure seems like something that DJI should have included.

I have been digging a bit and think the orientation is in the exif data. Use exiftool to get all the information. The craft yaw degree is in the exif of DNGs at least. I don't know about jpg since I only use raw

0 Degrees is north, -90 is west, 90 east and I'm not sure what it says when you point it exactly south if you get 180 or -180.

I have been told that Orientation data is in the Mavic metafile for .jpgs. However, I sure cannot find it. There is an Orientation field but it is always '1'. I wrote a web program to dump all the meta data.
