Plastic camera cover

My mavic will be delivered tomorrow and i have a silly question that already might have been asked , do you guys fly with it on or off. Whats that plastic cover for to protect during transportation?

People mostly use the plastic gimbal cover to protect the gimbal in storage or when transporting the Mavic. Some people fly with it on, but it's not really a great idea to do so when you're taking photos/video since it can affect the quality of the photos/footage.

when it was cold today at 20 degrees F i kept it on just because

Off, unless you want garbage footage. If you dont fly like an idiot with the sticks the camera wont be harmed and you'll get great footage.
