Question about bringing drone to Dominican Rebublic

I'm traveling to DR next month and I would like to bring my Mavic Air, but I'm getting conflicting info about traveling to the country and flying a drone there. Does anyone have any experience with using their drone in the DR that could share some advice with me?

I have discovered that asking this question in this forum, about any country you plan to visit is not really a fruitful exercise. I asked the same question regarding bringing my Mavic Air to Zambia and Madagascar (September 2019) for over a year. I never got a meaningful reply.No one had been there with a drone.

So when it came to packing time, I made the decision to just pack it into my regular camera bag. Of course this could not have been done with a larger drone but the Mavic Air has its own little case and sits in the camera bag very well camoflaged. So when I got to Zambia, there was no inspection at customs and I emerged from the airport, only to find out that my lodge prohibited drones because of risks of poaching, disturbing wildlife, etc. (Hippocritically, the lodge website has tons of drone views). They never let me fly it on safari and the drone was never used in Zambia. I then flew into Madagascar which has a very strict drone law (I failed to ever successfully apply for a permit despite numerous applications and letters in French). But I was able to freely use my Mavic Air everywhere!!!

So my point is, just pack it and take it and go carefully out there when it is feasible to try to fly. Follow the well known rules (people, parks, airports, etc.). You should be fine. Take it!
