Question regarding vision positioning....

So if I read everything correctly , when the drone is taking off, it kind of takes a picture of what's underneath it ,so It can try and find that again when it's returning to home. Does that mean I can make it easier , by putting a red dot , pattern, etc ...underneath the drone on takeoff?

instead of the nondescript asphalt or grass with no pattern?

Yes. I made this landing pad out of a vinyl tile. $2.80 from Home Depot. I drew the QR code pattern. My Mavic nails it. And the tile is sturdy and weighty.

Yes -- but, you must take off and ascend straight up for at least 32 feet.
