R.T.H. Off

If you take off manually, go straight up about 10 meters before moving horizontally. This gives the rth recording to set an accurate position. At least that works for me.
If you use the precision auto takeoff function, and you’re off a large distance, try some IMU/compass calibrations.
Also, it helps that the landing site have distinctive features.

  • Make sure precision landing is turned on.
  • Make sure the homepoint is recorded before flying away.
  • When you take off, fly straight up to around 20 feet and hover a few seconds so it can record a picture of the takeoff spot.
  • If you are within 16 feet of the takeoff point it will land where it is at.

Probably becasue that wasn't a day 1 feature on the mavic, was added later via updates as an option.

I have a new mavic pro we flew it twice yesterday it wall be around 6 feet off from where we took off any ideas?
If you aren't using the Precision landing feature, try another 10 times and you'll find it lands closer sometimes and a little further away sometimes.
That's the accuracy level of consumer grade GPS.

I tried hovering around maybe 5ft above takeoff area and tried rth 5 times and it returned to the same spot each time. Thanks everyone for the tips.
